PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

The Electronics and communication system programme will make its graduates

  • To pursue a successful professional career in ever growing electronic industries and its related fields by applying technical knowledge.
  • Technically competent graduates with ability to  design, develop, optimize and implement electronic systems
  • Become an entrepreneur by analysing and developing products to offer solutions for the contemporary issues in the society.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

B.Sc Electronics and M.Sc Applied Electronics were started for the first time in an Arts and Science College in Tamil Nadu in the year 1987 and 1991 respectively. Similarly the Research Programmes M.Phil and Ph.D were started in the year 2000.Department of Electronics rightly prides itself in providing a quality education which reflects changing trends in the knowledge and equipment required for scientific investigation to meet the needs of the industry and science globally. The laboratories are equipped with the latest facilities in Altera DE2, Xilinx, ARM Processor, Lab view, bio medical instruments, TITMS 320c5416 DSP, Analog Blackfin Processor, e.t.c… The students are well trained in handling the equipment’s and using them for various applications. The faculty members are experts in different fields with high technical knowledge. This expertise is passed on to the students through lectures, tutorials, field work and individual monitoring. Students are encouraged to think critically and to participate in the research being conducted continuously in all areas of Electronics Science. Our success is measured by the success of our students. We have made special efforts to make them aware of the opportunities and the challenges in the fast growing field of Electronics. Students are assured of friendly, cooperative and effective education that will facilitate their professional development. Our students will live up to the expectations and the trust placed in them by their employers. They will confidently face the challenges of industries and research institutions.

    1. The Department of Electronics organized three days National level Workshops in the title of Go Solar (Go Solar) on 5-10-2017 to 7-10-2017, Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science.
    2. On 17th August 2017 both UG and PG students of the Department of Electronics visited Signals and Telecommunication Centre, Southern Railway, Podanur Coimbatore as a part of an Institutional Visit.
    3. On 6th January 218- UG Students of the Department of Electronics visited “KELTRON CONTROL LIMITED” Aroor, Cochin.
    4. On 19th January 2018 - PG students of the Department of Electronics visited “Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant”, Tirunelveli.
    5. On 20th January 2018 - PG students of the Department of Electronics visited “Regional Science center”,
    6. On 22nd February 2018 – UG Students of the Department of Electronics Visited Sri Ramakrishna Multi Specialty Hospital – Bio medical Lab.

    The Department of Electronics conducted intercollegiate Technical Symposium “Synchronics2k18” on 6th March 2018, Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science.
