Language & Communication Skills

To help the students to communicate proficiently, an MOU has been signed with the Hindu for conducting the STEP (Standardized Test for English Proficiency) Programme every year to all the first-year students of the undergraduate programme. The 70-hour STEP course provides a language software, that hones the four language skills (Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing) and enhances the ability of the students to communicate confidently.

Life Skills – (Yoga and Meditation, Health and Hygiene, Physical Fitness)

To strengthen and to keep the mind and body healthy and happy ‘Yoga and Meditation are offered to the students and faculty members. The practice helps in managing stress, improving mental clarity and promoting a better healthier lifestyle.

Health is the state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease and infirmity according to WHO. Health and Hygiene are given the due importance in the campus and special sessions are organized for the students. Specialists and doctors from Sri Ramakrishna Hospital have interactive sessions with the students, especially girls, about their health issues and guide them according to their needs. Psychological needs of the students are also taken care of by the psychologists who come to the campus to counsel the students on a regular basis.

The Physical Education department takes care of the physical fitness of the students with a gym provided in the Men’s hostel. Five Alive Cricket Turf and SNR Sons Cricket club in the campus provide opportunities for the students to get trained, play and keep fit.

Awareness of Trends in Technology

In these days of technological explosions, updating one’s knowledge has become the need of the hour. Keeping this in mind, Higher Education Institutions are functioning in such a way that they cater to the Academic needs of the students, not only through the curriculum but also through the various programmes organized to create awareness of Trends in Technology. Ours is no exception. Seminars, Conferences and Workshops conducted throughout the year pave the way for a better understanding of the recent developments in their specific domain. The Job Oriented Courses and Value-added Courses prove to be eye openers to the new trends in Technology. The programmes like the Learnathon & Hackathon enable the students to become enthusiastic Learners and innovative solution providers for the future generation. Finishing School Programmes like ‘Android Mobile Applications’, ‘Software testing using Selendroid’ etc. educate the students with the current technologies and empower them with the needed skills and self-confidence.
