About the Department
Department of Electronics and Communication Systems offers UG, PG and Research programmes in Electronics and Communication System. B.Sc.Electronics and M.Sc. Applied Electronics were started for the first time in an Arts and Science College, Tamil Nadu in 1987 and 1991, respectively. Similarly, the research programmes M.Phil. and Ph.D. were started in the year 2000. The laboratories are outfitted with cutting-edge communication equipment (AlteraDE2, Xilinx, ARM Processor, LabVIEW, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Texas Instruments Products, TI CC3200, MSP430, biomedical instruments, and so on),and Texas Instruments sponsored 3.6 Lakhs in loT and Robotic instruments for our Innovation Lab. These are available to students who have received adequate instruction on how to use them for various purposes and who are well-trained in handling the equipment and using it for various applications. The faculty members are experts in different fields with high technical knowledge. This expertise is passed on to the students through lectures, tutorials, fieldwork, and individual monitoring. Students are encouraged to think critically and to participate in the research being conducted continuously in all areas of electronic science
