The Department of Commerce was established in the year 1987 with an aim of providing knowledge to the students in the field of commerce and accounting. The Department not only teaches the curriculum, but also ensure that the gap between what is taught in the college and what is practiced in industry is bridged by arranging frequent Guest lectures, Seminars and Conferences. The department became a full-fledged research department offering full time and part time M.Phil & Ph.D. Programmes from the academic year 2000-2001. The Department also provides Value Added Programmes in addition to regular Programmes to help the students competent enough to face the challenges, improve their academic performance and increase their motivation to achieve and increase pride and satisfaction in performance and to improve their self-confidence.
